Biography
- Full Name: Malcolm Durante

- Family: He doesn't discuss them.
Durante has earned a place in the Brotherhood and has lived in their headquarters for three months now spending most of his time learning and training. Though still considered a 'recruit' he is under serious consideration as a possible combatant. He has proven loyal thus far to the Brotherhood's views and has severed all ties to his past as well. He is still viewed as a bit of a loner and anti-social, but in truth he is still learning proper social standards and rules. If any actually spoke with him though he could easily talk their ear off about some topics, possibly to the point of annoying the listener.
Really he is socially deprived and generally desperate for companionship on any level, as the most obvious side effect of his mutation limits his ability to interact with normal humans. As from the elbows down his arms have the normal shape most of the time, however they have the coloring of exposed bone.
Though he is seventeen, due to his size and generally boyish features he appears to be around fifteen. He prefers to go by his surname and typically avoids mentioning his given name. He generally is an intelligent, calm, cool, and logical in his thoughts and actions.
He is unregistered and due to being in hiding in one form or another, his involvement in the Brotherhood is unknown. The fact he even exists is even unknown to the general public.
Since becoming a full member of the Brotherhood and allowed to leave the base Durante had one or two positive outcomes in a few events that took place in the city. However after an attack at what he feels is an insult to being called a 'Bar-Be-Que', and an event he prefers was never brought up again, he has gone into a downward spiral of mess ups to outright desasters.
Due to these events, but especially a misunderstanding with Combat Marshal Marrow and the fact he unintentionally led a potential threat to the headquarters, which was the result of the same 'BBQ' where he was in no condition to take his normal random travel across half the city before returning to the headquarters, he has come to doubt himself more and more. With his active duty standing revoked and what he took as orders from Marrow to not leave the HQ till he can reprove his loyalty and his competence, however due to increasing feelings of inferiority and a lack of bonding with the other members he has spent more and more time alone even going so far as to restrict his training to his room alone.
Due to all of these things Durante has even begun to doubt his place in the Brotherhood and seriously considering leaving the group entirely, not to mention his doubts over whether or not he may be to honorable for the group as often his views of honor have caused conflict or resulted in harsher treatment.
And though he does respect many of the members to some degree, especially Marrow, Emma, and Attrition he does wonder if he's not joined a group he knew to little about to quickly in an attempt to replace a family he can never meeet again.
He has decided to try again and speak with more members of the group but there are those outside the group he's been cut off from so long. Mostly Nikki and Barbara.
Powers
Durante has 'Shape-shifting arms', basically from his elbows down he can consciously alter the shape of his arms in various crude shapes. It takes practice with new forms but in time he can make the changes in seconds given time and practice.
Locations
- Chinatown and the House of Xiao- Due to his interest in other cultures Durante spends time in Chinatown, especially the House of Xiao. However to prevent his mutation from being noticed he mostly spends his town browsing stores.
- At times he even seems almost willing to inform the owners of the House of Xiao about his mutation so he can do more then browse, however likely concern over possible Anti-Mutant violence prevents this.
- Little Italy- Durante mostly spends time browsing shops in Little Italy, and will sometimes even linger at the various eateries, yet he never seems to enter.
- Libraries- He will sometimes spend time reading in the various libraries in the city, though he seems to have a preference for the following: The Public Library in Midtown
- Central Park- Durnte spends time at Central Park mostly to be around others while getting away to relax and enjoy the scenery.
- Army-Navy Surplus- He will commonly browse the selection at the Army-Navy Surplus store in Tribeca.
- South Beach- Durante often walks along the beach or Boardwalk at South Beach on Staten Island to enjoy the sights, being around others, relaxation, and such. Though his wearing a long sleeve coat at all times of the year does make him stand out, and likely makes him known at least by "That odd boy who's always wearing a coat on the beach" among the local artists, employees, and the like.
This tends to be one of his most commonly occupied locations due to the fact it is close to his home, though this reason he never says to anyone aside from known members of the Brotherhood.
- The Headquarters of the Brotherhood- Durante spends the majority of his time in the Brotherhood's HQ, even after being allowed to leave. This isn't known to any outside of the members of the Brotherhood itself however. Though he can be found in various locations:
- His room- Durante has been given a room of his own which he will work out in after waking, but mostly just sleeps here.
- Training Room- By far where he spends most of his time, working on his fighting skills and developing his powers.
- Library- The HQs library is often used for study, likely the second most commonly occupied room in the HQ by Durante.
- Cafeteria- Used only for meals, however Durante will not eat anywhere else in the city. Another reason he is not often gone from the HQ for long.
- Misc- Durante will occasionally go to other places in the city, but mostly to just get away and try something different.
Event Involvement
- Killed one guard at the grand opening? of The Dark Facade.
- Was present during the entire episode with 'Nessy'?.
Storyline
Durante doesn't speak of his life before the Brotherhood, not even to members of the Brotherhood. His recruiter brought him in after a fight with Anti-Mutant supporters, which ended a period of observing Durante for potential recruitment.
Durante was under consideration for four months before finally being allowed to know the location of the Brotherhood's Headquarters. He has lived in the HQ for three months since, finally taken off probation and allowed out.
He mostly wonders the city getting to know it and those individuals he can, though he has got off to a rather violent start. He treats his membership in the Brotherhood seriously, considering them almost as a second family, whatever happened to the first, and is tight lipped about mentioning his membership to any he has not ppersonally seen in the Brotherhood's HQ as a member.

Acquaintances
- Felix?- Met him at the opening of The Dark Facade, since seeing the mutant's abilities Durante has been curious about this individual. Some time after the opening Durante met up with Felix in Central Park. After further discussion Durante has grown closer to the transforming mutant given their shared views and drives. This has led to Felix being good in the running for Durante's first friend since coming to New York.
- Barbara- Initially spoke to her at the library and learned a bit about computers from her, Durante mostly sees her as a bit of a scholar and accurately judged some of her personal... Traits. However he so far views her as an intelligent young woman who could do much in life. Though he also finds her enjoyable company for conversation on more intellectual matters.
- Alessia?- An odd woman, but she gave him a place to stay for one night as he thought about his path. She also gave him his first taste of Chinese food, the drawback is that he'd almost go back to try and get more as he has no other way.
- Attrition- A newer member then even himself Durante respects Attrition's views and finds the newer recruit insightful and self-aware and willing to improve himself. He understands Attrition tries to improve Durante as well, but due to misunderstandings knows the newer member isn't aware that most of what he says Durante learned long before.
- Nikki- The little girl from fifth grade, Durante thought the singer at the opening looked familiar, but it took a closer look at her face and her name to figure it out. First girl he ever thought looked pretty, and seems not everything has changed. But she seems to fear him so why be around her... But then how likely is it to meet her again in a city this big?
Of late with increasing doubts of himself and seeking a confidant, he's wondered if he could confide in his only tie to his past... To a degree.
- Marrow- Durante has come to respect the Combat Marshal greatly as a warrior and leader, and though some might consider her punishments towards some of his behavior he has seen them with understanding and the most recent he feels is actually to kind for his actions.
- Emma- Spoken a few times since he came to the Brotherhood's headquarters, he is mostly passive towards the older woman. However after recent minor introductions to her powers he has become more curious and likely to seek to know her more. Also noticing what could potentially be flaws in her, he is interested in seeing how accurate he was and if he can provide some assistance. But overall he views her as a good information source among the Brotherhood.
- Gideon?- Only met a few times, but his shared need to cover up and the oddity of Gideon's mutation does leave Durante curious.
- Tamesis- After meeting her on the beach her similar requirement to hide her appearance and her curious mutation has left Durante facinated. Though he is attracted to her, he's never commented or even acted on it as he sees no reason to. However their similar but not fully the same personality types has also led him to seek future contact due to the potential for a lasting friendship. Though he doesn't agree with her perspective on humans.
- Pietro- Though not really an enemy. After Pietro's hubris and fairly spoiled behavior during a training session resulting in Durante's left shoulder being dislocated, followed by Pietro lacking any degree of regret or integrety in Durante's opinion certainly has left Durante with a low opinion of Pietro.
