Hildegarde was born in Heidelberg, Germany to Wolfrik and Katharina VonReginleif. She was introduced to music at a young age and took up singing. Hilde hit a growth spurt which seemed never ending. By the time she had stopped growing, Hilde was 8'10" tall and weighed in at over 900 pounds.

Hilde studied at the Universität der Künste Berlin (Berlin University of the Arts) and graduated at the age of 23. By the age of 27, Hildegarde was an accomplished opera singer. Her deep voice allowed her to play contralto roles in operas and vocal performances. Her most famous performance was as the Valkyrie Schwertleite in Wagner's opera Die Walküre, which she sang for five years in the Vienna Volksoper. Hildegarde was awarded the title of Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French Government at the age of 32. Recently, Hilde has travelled to New York City and was to play her role as Schwertleite in a Broadway production of Die Walküre.

Unfortunately for Hilde, her sister Elke released a tape of Hilde lifting a car out of a ditch, which outed the opera singer as a mutant. Hilde attempted to quell the media with a Press Conference which went awry. Afterward, the opera dropped Hilde to avoid the bad press and the singer was forced to spend most of her fortune to pay off legal fees and bribe away some bad press. Hilde's family has also stopped speaking with her, feeling that she has shamed them with so much bad press.

Things in the city started to heat up for mutants in late September. Hilde felt that it was no longer safe to remain and made plans to return to Germany. One of her old acquaintances got her a position teaching music in Munich. Hilde is unsure whether or not she will be returning to the USA anytime soon.

Powers

Superhuman Strength

Hilde is superhumanly strong and can lift up to three tons with little effort. With great exertion she is capable of lifting approximately 5 tons. She is capable of crushing, denting, or bending just about anything that is capable of being destroyed by physical means. Hilde's punches and kicks are capable of exuding a force equal to 1.5 tons, almost four times stronger than the punch strength of a heavyweight boxer.

Hilde is capable of denting most metals, with the exception of Adamantium. And she can shatter most bricks and stones other than diamond. Thick metal objects would receive some damage, but she can not buckle steel thicker than one foot. If the object is light enough for her to lift, she may simply tear it up. If Hilde gets a running start, she can break through most walls, though solid stone or metal walls over a foot thick would give her some trouble.

Superhuman Stamina

Hilde's musculature produces less fatigue toxins during physical activity than the musculature of a normal human being, granting her some level of superhuman stamina. At her peak, she can exert herself physically at peak capacity for about 2 hours before the build up of fatigue toxins in her blood begins to impair her. If she attempts to do extremely heavy lifting (four tons or more) she will fatigue much faster. She can hold a four ton object for approximately 15 minutes. She can only support anything heavier than that for a few minutes before the strain becomes too much for her.

Superhumanly Dense Tissue

Hilde's bodily tissue possesses a greater density than the bodily tissue of a normal human. As a result, she is much heavier than she appears and her denser tissue contributes somewhat to her physical strength. Hilde is larger than most people, though she is not the tallest person ever to have lived. She is 8'10" tall and weighs 975 pounds.

Superhuman Durability

Hilde's bodily tissues are harder and more resistant to certain types of injury than those of a human. For example, she is capable of withstanding powerful impact forces, such as falling from great heights or blows that would severely injure or kill a human being. She can fall from up to 30 feet and can withstand blunt forces in excess of five thousand pounds and sustain little permanent damage. This is not to say that such forces would not cause her pain or flesh-wound, it is just unlikely for her to sustain a broken bone from such a blow. Hilde’s bones are about four times denser than normal human bones. A lighter bone (rib, phalange) would break with an impact over five thousand pounds, but her stronger bones (humerus, femur) could withstand about three tons of pressure.

It is through this ability that allows her to both withstand the recoil damage of her own power and also to lift heavy objects without being crushed. This also allows her to do things such as punch stone and metal without destroying her hands.

Regenerative Healing Factor

If Hilde does sustain injury, her body is able to heal damaged tissue faster and more extensively than an ordinary human. She is capable of recovering from most injuries in about half the time it would take a normal human to heal. Injuries that would usually cause scarring on normal individuals will heal without scarring on Hilde. Hilde is also slightly more resistant to disease than ordinary humans, and due to her extreme mass it takes a larger dosage of chemical toxins (about six times the dose for a normal human female) to cause her harm. However, she is not able to regenerate missing limbs or organs, and she does not have an extended lifespan.

Personality

Hilde is extremely friendly and a bit naive. She is easily deceived and confused. But even when confused beyond reason, Hilde always tries to do the right thing. Although her judgement isn't really the best, so sometimes she rationalizes that doing something like throwing a car might be 'the right thing'.

Skills and Possessions

Linguistic Skills

Being born in Germany, Hilde is capable of speaking fluent German. Also, due to extensive travels and performances in foreign languages, she can also speak enough English, Italian, French, Spanish, and Russian to be able to communicate effectively in each language.

Musical Training

Hilde is trained in the musical arts. She is an accomplished opera singer. She can play the piano, violin, and harp. Hilde is trained in ballroom dancing. She is not trained to competition level, but she is certainly talented enough for social situations.

Wardrobe

Hilde is in possession of many expensive ball and performance gowns and accessories. All opera costumes had to be custom tailored for her. She got to keep most outfits after her performances.

Inconel Shoes

Due to Hilde's extreme weight and strength, her family has had her shoes specially fitted with Inconel Alloy soles. Anything less would cause her shoes to be crushed every time she took a step. However, after losing her money and the support of her family, she will need to find a new means of reinforcing her footwear should she need a new pair.

Monetary Resources

Hilde currently has about three thousand dollars left after paying everyone off. She also has several expensive articles of clothing and jewellery which she is able, but unwilling, to sell. The jewellery would probably go for $10,000 if she were to sell the entire collection. The clothing is probably unsellable, since it is tailored for a woman who is nearly ten feet tall.

Uniform

Technically, she doesn't use them as uniforms yet, but Hilde will be using some of her old operatic Valkyrie costumes from when she played Schwertleite in Die Walküre. These costumes were built with real iron and leather so that they would be durable enough to withstand Hilde's strength.

Event Involvement

Hildegarde was the main focus of the Press Conference event.

Storyline

Hilde is currently living in a hotel in Manhattan. She is unsure of what to do now that she no longer has her fame, family, and wealth.

Friends and Enemies

Friends

Hilde has few friends, but she had a fun bar encounter with Alison.

Hilde is also appreciative of Wesley for his help during the Press Conference incident.

Enemies

Elke VonRegenleif - Hilde's sister. Hilde has decided to hate Elke. It's unlikely she'll be coming to the US any time soon.

Please Note

Hilde is a famous opera singer. She is also a known mutant and has been in the news frequently in the past few months. She tends to stand out in a crowd and is easily recognized. As such, it is entirely possible for your character to know about her even without meeting her.
