Nearly nothing is really known about Jace until just after his sixteenth birthday, when he was tracked down by none other than Jean? Grey and Nikki Vibe.

After a bit of mistaken identity on all sides, Jean and Nikki finally convinced Jace to take an invitation to Xavier's, where things (from his point of view) got complicated. In his few months there, he began the long, slow road towards trusting again. With Charles Xavier's help, he even managed to minimize what Xavier called 'Fugue' states, and actually made his first friends since Scratch's disappearance.

While he made an effort to stay low-key, a moment of chaos on Staten Island brought out the best in Jacen Starr. When a massive sea creature? attacked, Jace made the first selfless decision he had in a long while. With the help of John, Rahne, and a few others, Jacen made a massive display of mutant power, drawing the creature away from the populace, at the expense of his shoulder and ankle.

Following the event, he fled back to the streets, managing to return to Xavier's only with the help of Nikki Vibe. After considerable treatment and rest, he chose to leave the school, heavily pained to leave the first place off the streets that he considered 'home'. That was when his life got interesting.

When he finally stepped foot back on American soil, Jacen's chance meeting with another mutant (able to sense other mutants and their abilities) led to another piece of his own puzzle being found. He learned enough to understand the nature of his internal 'Cold Fusion' mutation and the potentials of it, even if he still struggles to put some of it into practice. Jace set out for Upstate New York for the first time in two years. Unsure how his return will be recieved, or even if Professor Xavier will allow him back, he knows that the only one that can keep him from becoming a walking nuke again is Charles Xavier.

Friends and Enemies

A list of friends like this:

• Nikki - A complicated history exists with Nikki, ranging from Jace's voice of reason to romantic interest. One of the few people Jace'd listen to when he first got to Xavier's.
• Chaz? - Assigned as Jace's powers instructor at Xavier's, Chaz helped him get a better idea of the potential he had (both with powers, and with his own life).
• Jean? - For the most part, Jean had been a warden, as far as jace was concerned, though time away from the mansion has tempered his view somewhat. Whether the reverse is true remains to be seen.
• Rahne - In Jace's mind, Rahne's the ever-adorable "Red". It's possible that Jace is one of the few that sees her as a person, and not just 'little sister'. After all, Jace knows that (in this case) The bite is DEFINITELY more dangerous than the bark.
• Adam - After a shaky start, Jace doesn't consider him a friend, but had a grudging respect for the furball when he left the school.
• Sally - Happy, peppy, and the only person Jace'd trust to do any kind of first-aid on him. ...and she's had to, more than once.
• John - Still not a friend, but Jace has far more respect for John than any of the other Xavier's staff. ...except maybe Xavier himself.
• Tyson - Just-- Don't get these two in the same room. Ever.
