Biography

Tyson was born in New York City to Tony and Lisa Barker, owners of a mom and pop bakery called the Barker Family Bakery. They lived a normal, simple life in Greenwhich Village. Simple, at least, until Tyson found out he was a mutant. Scared by the powers at first, and then embracing them as he got to understand them, Tyson told only his brothers about his powers, afraid his parents may disown him if they found out. His brothers were (and still are) the only people Tyson feels he can trust with all his heart.

He never used his powers much in public, but he and his younger brother, Michael, used to use them to play pranks on people in the city. Tyson believed all of this went unnoticed, but people were watching. One day, he recieved a letter in the mail inviting him to join a private high school in Westchester. Eager to leave PS 32, Tyson convinced his parents to take a look...

Powers

Tyson has the ability to manipulate and control electronic objects. Anything powered by electricity or battery can fall under his command. He can also emit powerful EMP's that destroy all electronic devices in their path. At the moment, he can only control an object that has a 'live' source of power.

Storyline

Tyson arrived at Xavier's school halfway through his junior year. He was shy about his powers at first, but quickly opened up towards the end of the year. He made quick friends with Adam and Kurt and started up good relationships with his teachers, Jean? and Brianna.

Not long after joining the school, he found himself mixed up in strange situations that would soon be all too common in his life. It all started with the meteor shower, where he faced strange beings that hit him with a ball of energy. After that, he understood whatever language they were speaking and managed to get them to leave the park.

After this, he was also present when the sea creature surfaced and helped fight against the shadow monsters in two of their attacks on the city. He has researched the shadows, but remains clueless as to their whereabouts and true motives, though he has developed some theories.

Strange, unexplained events aren't the only things that make up his life, however. He has made some great friends since starting school and he has learned that he needs to focus on learning more about his powers if he ever hopes to be able to control them.

Tyson has recently been named Squad Leader for GenX. He has also been asked to help his friend Nikolai with a problem he has. Although it may be dangerous, he would never leave his friend hanging, and has offered to help in any way he can.

Though, for the most part, things grew quiet in Tyson's life after this, he has still had plenty to keep himself busy. On the school side of things, he teamed up with Rahne to put together a project for the science fair Sally put together. Outside of school, Tyson was present when the Chinatown monster? appeared, and with the help of Kurt and a few strangers he was able to destroy it...apparently.

Friends and Enemies

Friends:

Adam: He's one of Tyson's best friends and drinking buddy, though Tyson has sworn to himself not to drink too much with Adam, knowing it's a weakness of his.

Bernie: Adam's girlfriend and a really cool girl to hang around. They haven't spent too much time together, but he still considers her close, both because she's dating Adam and because whenever they do hang out, he feels like they've known each other forever.

Brianna: She may be his teacher, but Tyson loves to hang out and tease Brianna. She's also his squad leader and has played a major role in the evolution of his powers.

Jean?: Tyson goes to Jean whenever he has questions or new information about any of the strange happenings in the city. She is the only one he feels he can completely trust with all of this information.

Keenan?: He's Tyson's nervous little friend who has a big crush on him. He likes being around Keenan and has shared some intense and meaningful conversations with him.

Kurt: One of Tyson's older friends at the school. They have just recently been spending more time together after the incident in Chinatown.

Lex: He's Tyson's older brother who hhe happens to be very close to. He's helped Tyson throughout his life in dealing with his mutation, and for that, Tyson will always be thankful.

Nikki: The cool music chick who shares some of his offbeat taste in tunes. They've had a bit of a roller coaster ride relationship, but things have since been more upfront. Tyson considers her one of his best friends.

Nikolai: Tyson gave Nikolai a tour of the city and has since then kept up a good relationship with the boy. They hang out every so often and Tyson really enjoys his company.

Rahne: Rahne is like the little sister Tyson never had. She may be young, but Tyson knows she's got a lot going on for her, and although her werewolf form scares the hell out of him, he really likes her company and her accent.

Saga?: Tyson met Saga outside of school and didn't know she was a mutant until she enrolled. Even though others may think differently because of the way she talks, Tyson thinks Saga is one of the smartest people he knows.

Samantha?: She's bubbly and full of life. Tyson always has a good time around her, and also likes taking advantage of her job at Starbucks.

Topaz: Topaz isn't into all the drama in the school, and Tyson has found her to be a relief from all the angst. Still, he doesn't know too much about her, though lately he has begun to learn *some* things.

Wanda: Tyson may not know her real name, but he does have an intense interest in her. It may be because she seems to keep a lot of herself hidden from him, though he wants to find out more about her.

Enemies:

Jace?: Before he disappeared, Jace was Tyson's number one enemy. They could hardly be in the same room together and had more than one confrontation that ended with something flying towards his head.

Simon?: After being subject to too many of Simon's pranks, Tyson has grown cold to this kid. He's starting to wonder where what's left of their friendship is heading, and he feels like it might not be a good place.

Union Jack?: Tyson may have never met him, but he still doesn't like the guy. He ruined his friend and, apparently, more lives than just that one. Tyson is going to make sure he gets what he deserves.

Zachary: Tyson pretended to be Nikki's boyfriend in order to keep Zachary away from her. Since then, they've had a couple of intense arguments that have made sure they'll never be friends anytime soon. After spreading rumors and nearly starting a fight with him, Tyson has decided that Zachary is becoming much too big of a thorn in his side.
