Biography
- Full Name: Charles Francis Xavier
- Age: 50
- Codename: Professor X
- Family: Brian and Sharon Xavier (parents, deceased), Kurt Marko (stepfather, deceased); no other known relatives at this time
Professor Xavier doesn't talk much about his past, though is not particularly guarded about it. One would be able to find out easily enough by talking to older students and some of the long-time faculty that it was apparently in the Korean war that he lost the use of his legs. They will be quick to add that being in a wheelchair doesn't prevent him from having an uncanny knack of showing up where one might least expect him; but then, that is the hazard of living under the same roof as one of the most powerful telepaths in the world.
While the school is specifically a school for mutants and a pretty pricey one at that, he has been known to make generous exceptions. Grants for students without the means appear out of nowhere and he has housed (temporarily) mutants in need who were not of student age or qualified for faculty. The man seems to have amassed himself some wealth which appears to be limitless, for he will spend whatever he can to help those under his roof by whatever means necessary.
To those looking for information on him, Xavier would seem to be a wealthy entrepreneur who opened up one of those 'posh schools' up in Salem Center, Westchester, New York. He is not in the public eye very much, though he has made some considerable donations to various charitable organizations in the Manhattan area in the past and more recent days (these are usually done anonymously, but an observant watcher might be able to track these things down).
To those within the school, he is the headmaster and owner of Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. He is relatively patient and goes out of his way not to pry into the lives and minds of those around him, but he can still be a formiddable man when faced with students who cannot keep the school's secrets or who insist on blowing holes up in the mansion. Despite his more serious demeanor in times like those, he still is known to be quite generous and even gracious and would rather find ways to resolve issues and learn from them than to just mindlessly punish for them.
And finally, to the X-Men, he is the ex-officio of this team. They answer to him and he pretty much takes a back seat, allowing the team leader (Jean Grey?) to manage the team as a whole. He oversees them, but takes a back seat to their missions, investigations and general activities, providing resources, direction and advice as needed.
Powers
Currently, Xavier is the most powerful telepath in the world. He has the capability to read minds, project his thoughts into the minds of others and even coerce people into doing what he wishes (if he went so far), among other things. No one truly knows the limits of this man's mental capabilities, but anyone who knows him knows that they certainly make up for the fact that he cannot walk. Don't mistake him for a frail, disabled, middle-aged man who has a love for felines: or you might just find yourself thinking you're a chimp in the Amazon.
Storyline
In the past, he has been reported to by various students and faculty regarding strange occurrences in the city, including shadow creatures in downtown Manhattan and apparently 'alien' creatures in the park. He has helped students overcome some control issues with both their powers and their tempers in the recent past. Recent contributions to the community have included donations to a rec center's program for youths, as an example.
More recently, he has sent the X-Men in search of Jacob Peterson; the Brotherhood are claiming responsibility for this mutant boy's jailbreak.
Friends and Enemies
Friends:
- Magneto - This is an old friendship which is strained due to large differences of opinion regarding the status of humans and mutants sharing the world, as well as more recent activities of the Brotherhood
- Moira MacTaggert - An old friend who resides on Muir Island? and is, in fact, an old flame of his. She is a human but with pro-mutant interests and who helps out from time to time, specifically with technology and scientific research.
Enemies:
- Magneto - While they are friends, Xavier and Magneto are also enemies due to being on opposite sides of the fence on the 'mutant issue'.
Currently, Xavier is unaware of the identities of any of the Brotherhood members.

- You might want to link to Patrick Stewart in the movies category. There's no page there yet, but there's a link for one already on the Movies page. To link there, it's just [[Movies/Patrick Stewart]].
- I just tweaked this slightly since I made a small change to the template. Just bolding the bio info fields. If you want to remove it, feel free. :) -Paradigm
