Almost every MU* has something called newsfiles. These can be accessed by typing 'news' from anywhere on the game.
Different games use these for different purposes but on XMR, they contain important and valuable information about the game, its policies, the character creation process, building and more.
It is imperative for a newcomer to read over all of these files before creating a character.
