Because we are a consent-based MUSH, all powers and abilities that would inflict results upon another character must be written to include some sort of out. That is, they must have some failsafe built into them, should someone opt not to consent to having these powers used upon them.
For example, a telepath might have an out by making it so that their powers can fail if they are trying to read the mind of someone especially strong-willed.
