Central Park is a huge park located right in the heart of Manhattan. It has its own zoo, merry-go-round and castle. There are various horse drawn carriages that start outside the southern end of the park and take passengers through the park on personal and private tours. Recently though, the ASPCA and Parks Dept are taking measures to ensure the safety of the horses, who used to be forced to work 12 hour shifts in single digit freezing weather and triple digit heat waves. They are now not allowed to be outside and working in such conditions.

Central Park Zoo

The Central Park Zoo is the oldest and one of the smallest operating zoo within New York City, which was founded in the late 1800s. Back then though, the zoo was nothing more than lined up small cages with penned up animals for visitors to gawk at.

Now though, the zoo has had a major upgrade from the Wildlife Conservation Society (which now runs all of the zoos within New York City). The zoo features red pandas, a sea lion exhibit in the center of the zoo, artic wolves, various small primates, penguins and puffins, and the most famous exhibit of them all - the polar bear exhibit, where a polar bear named Gus has gained celebrity status (even having a song created about him: Tragically Hip - "Gus: The Polar Bear"), having his picture taken with many well known celebrities. Sadly though, Gus is the product of neglect, which has caused him to nervously pace and swim around his exhibit.

On the Game

Central Park is a popular destination for scenes as it is a location where almost any character can be found, regardless of income and social status. A number of characters had a freaky occurrence when they went there to watch the meteor shower.

A number of the city's homeless seem to be drawn to the park.
