While X-Men: Retribution is open to a wide range of characters, there are some character types that will be restricted. The reasoning for these restrictions most likely will vary on a case-by-case basis, but rest assured that they are in the best interest of the MUSH in general. Characters or character types that are on the restricted list do have a possibility of being applied for. However, the process will be a long, difficult and scrutinizing one. As such you MUST speak with a staffer before beginning.
Generally, a restricted power is one that offers a strong possibility of overstepping theme, violating consent, or powergaming. If you do not consult staff before applying for a restricted concept, your application will be automatically denied. Also please note that staffers will not rubber stamp restricted concepts; these powers are on the restricted list because it is very unlikely that they will be allowed.
Please log on to the game and view 'news characters restricted' to see the most up-to-date list of restricted powers. When this page was last updated, the list was as follows:
- Non X Characters such as Spider-Man, Daredevil, Incredible Hulk and other characters from these series, human or otherwise
- Children/Relatives of existing characters will need the permission of said character's player
- Majorly uberpowerful characters such as Apocalypse as they will most likely be TP characters
- Magic-users will have magic severely restricted and may be revoked during play if their use of magic is not meshing with the standing theme
- Powers that allow access to other realities and realms
- Cyborgs
- Power/energy stealers
- Mute characters
- Incredibly old characters (living beyond a normal human lifespan)
- Powered characters who are not mutants (i.e. came into their powers through something other than mutation)
- Mutants who have been experimented upon/trained by mysterious (government or otherwise) agencies
- Characters 12 and under
- Precogs
