Summary
Sweet Adeline is doing a Valentine's Day promotion. The first 20 customers in the door after 8:30 pm tonight get a free chocolate sampler pack featuring samples of all of their most delightful romantic goodies. Try them now and then buy some for your Valentine! Those spending $25 or more get free gift wrapping and a long stemmed rose.
But the free chocolates seem to be laced with something... The white chocolates make people very giddy, while the dark chocolates put people in a foul mood. Eating both gives mood swings. The milk chocolate somehow clears it all up, though the effects wear off themselves after a few hours.
Sweet Adeline denies any knowledge of this and vows to send a strongly worded letter to their cocoa supplier. To try and smooth things over, they give a $20 gift card to everyone effected.

A Valentine's Day promotion went terribly awry last week when a local merchant inadvertently distributed tainted chocolates to its customers. Sweet Adeline, a small, locally-run boutique in Yorkville, discovered too late that the free samples provided to customers had been laced with some sort of mood-altering drug.
Investigations continue into the source of the trouble, but the proprietor speculates that it may have been a problem with their new cocoa supplier.
The business has issued a public apology to those effected by the tainted candy, offering those still in the store at the time of the crisis a gift certificate good on future purchases.
