Summary
The Brotherhood have taken credit for the jailbreak of young mutant Jacob Peterson. The current whereabouts of the youth are unknown, but he is believed to have left the country. Several police officers were injured in the process of this capture.
The plot culminated in the inital face off between the X-Men and Brotherhood. The Brotherhood were victorious, managing to get Jacob on a plane and off the ground before the X-Men could stop them. At least one X-Man was seriously injured, while the Brotherhood escaped with only minor injuries.

Magneto's speech was broadcast on many television networks as a late-breaking announcement and went as follows:
Good evening.
By now you all are no doubt aware of the daring rescure of young Jacob Peterson. I speak to you today to lay claim to this act and explain its significance. My organization, the Brotherhood of Mutants, has freed our friend from a corrupt and inherently unjust system. We will no longer sit idly by while countless numbers of our kind are punished for simply being superior.
You are right to fear us. But it is through your own actions that you bring about these consequences. No more will we stand for this gross injustice. Every attack against our brethren, every insult levelled against our own, every attempt to keep up from claiming our natural evolutionary place will be met in kind: our retribution will be swift; our vengeance terrible.
These are not the senseless acts of violence the propagandists would have you believe. We fight for those who cannot. We give a voice to the disenfranchised victims. We will be at your mercy no longer.
We did not start this war, but let there be no mistake: we -will- end it. Stand down. Stand aside. And stay out of our way.
This will be your only warning.
