Summary
The city of New York and many pro-MRA and anti-mutant groups have come together to hold the largest MRA rally so far. Tens of thousands of people gathered in Central Park to hear a number of notable speakers, including members of the city council. With the first speech well under way, the rally was interrupted when Sauron arrived on the scene. He attacked councilman Alfred Hayward and sent the crowd into a panic. Other mutants present at the time began using their powers and the press had a field day. The MCU arrived on the scene and gave a spectacular display of their weaponry. In the end, Sauron was captured, mutants were exposed, and many members of the crowd were injured.

Central Park, the home of yesterday's rally for the Mutant Registration Act, was turned upside down when the mutant who calls himself Sauron made yet another violent, public appearance. City councilman Alfred Hayward, a longtime supporter of the MRA, was sent to the hospital after being personally targeted by the mutant. He remains in a coma at the moment under close supervision from hospital staff. We'll hear more about his condition throughout the days to come
The councilman wasn't the only one injured in the riot, though. Hundreds of spectators were trampled to the ground as the crowd that numbered in the tens of thousands hurried to make an escape. Fifteen among them have been counted dead due to blunt trauma, two of them being children.
A number of other mutants appeared on the scene shortly after Sauron began his attack, though it is speculated that this was not a team effort. Included among them was a mutant apparently made entirely of ice. His own attack on Sauron is what reporters and witnesses claimed led to the tragic fall of councilman Hayward.

Also at the scene was the daughter of Malcom Frost, owner and operator of Frost enterprises, who attributed her own shocking mutant capabilities.

The MCU arrived on the scene shortly after to contain the mess, leaving smoke, flames, and a downed helicopter in their wake. Thankfully, though, they were able to apprehend Sauron and a fellow dangerous mutant who called himself the Toad. The two are being sent to Ryker's prison for the time being. We'll bring you more on this terrible event as news comes in.
